| Thanks for your prompt reply Tom. Since posting my question I tried using SSB and noticed that the frequency jumps around when I transmit. The ladder line which has a 6 inch spacing was originally only about three feet from the radio. I grounded the rig and tuner to a wall outlet. Also changed the length of the coax but still have the problem. It lessens when I move the rig to another room. Also, the problem lessens if I reduce power. Not sure what to do about the power leads to the radio. Is there a choke that I could put on the power cord? How about the mic cord; could RF get in there also? Is the receptical ground enough or do I need an RF ground? George |
